Main Room
The maximum capacity of the hub is 60 people. Smaller numbers apply for seated events depending on the layout. For example, theatre-style layout would be around 43 and seated around individual tables would be around 28. Different numbers may apply for alternative seating arrangements (e.g., banquet or conference-room layout).
The hall is equipped with 40 chairs, and 10 x 4-6 seat tables.
The room has broadband available and a large TV screen with HDMI, HDMI Arc, USB, Ethernet, Bluetooth and Wifi Direct connections. You will need to bring your own device, such as a laptop, to connect to the screen. An HDMI cable is available for use.
If you need a larger capacity venue, please consider Glenluce Public Hall, which has a capacity of 200.
Kitchen
There is a kitchen off the main hall with kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, small oven and hob available for use. Tea and coffee urns, crockery, cups and saucers, wine glasses, cutlery, plastic beakers, glasses, glass jugs, oven trays and pots and pans are also available. General waste and recycling bins are in the kitchen. All equipment should be cleaned, dried and put away after use.
Storeroom
The storeroom is accessed via the kitchen or via the north external doors. Tables and chairs are stored in this room, along with cleaning equipment. There is a cabinet in the storeroom for regular hub users who wish to leave equipment at the hall. Equipment is left at your own risk and with agreement of the DCHMC.
Accessibility
There are two parking spaces suitable for disabled access at the hub, directly off Orchard Road. We would ask that hub users kindly leave these spaces available for those who need them most.
Access from the parking area is via a sloped path, across a level terrace and through the main double door (east) entrance, which is level access. The hub itself is level.
The south double door entrance directly into the main room can be accessed via the terrace or via steps to the rear of the hub. The west single door directly into the main room is stepped access only. Toilets are directly off the main room and there is one accessible toilet and one standard toilet. Both are unisex.
Access directly to the storeroom is level at the north double door entrance to the hub.
There is a gravelled area to the rear with stepped access to the hub, which can be used for loading and unloading use only.
