Friends of the Glen Need Your Help

May 11, 2023

Could you help Friends of the Glen create some of these for an outdoor classroom and meeting place? They need someone trained and insured to use chainsaws and cut pieces of fallen timber for benches like these in Kirkcowan for our beautiful wood. Friends of the Glen volunteers will be on hand to lift and shift the wood, but need someone’s particular skills and chainsaw equipment to cut the pieces first.  The children and staff of Glenluce Primary School have put a lot of work and enthusiasm into helping to clear invasive species and replanting along with litter picking. Friends of the Glen would love to create a learning and gathering space to include these benches and encourage their appreciation and involvement in our lovely wood for years to come.  Please let us know if you (or someone who know) would be keen to be involved and offer their time and skills by emailing thetrust@oldluce.org.uk to register your interest.
