Local Place Plan Consultation

For the Common Good: a community-led Local Place Plan for Old Luce

Have your say by Sunday 31 May 2026 and help improve our community

Thank you to everyone who has already attended a drop-in or spoken with another way collective (formerly Sleeping Giants) on the doorstep or as part of a community group.

There are 5 more ways to have your say and tell another way collective what’s important to you:

  • complete one or more of the surveys, for residents, for community groups and/or for businesses and landowners
  • send email feedback
  • arrange a phone conversation with another way collective

All of your feedback will be anonymous, and you won’t be identified. Taking part is voluntary.

Why we are developing a Local Place Plan

We need to replace our out-of-date 2015 community action plan (CAP), so the views of local people can continue to inform what improvements are needed in our local area over the next 10 years, and how wind-farm community benefit money is spent.

Instead of CAPs, many communities are opting to develop Local Place Plans, which are very similar to CAPs, but which also require local authorities to consider the priorities set out in these plans when they make planning decisions.

Why we are engaging with the community (again!)

In early 2025, we asked consultant Only Human Ltd to engage with the people of Old Luce about their hopes for the future.

Our aim was to identify what locals consider to be some of the key issues and opportunities facing Old Luce and to generate a range of solutions and ideas for how you think our area could be improved.

Before we start writing the Local Place Plan, we want to engage with you again, to:

  • make sure more people can share their views, especially those we hear from less often
  • test out some of the ideas suggested in the previous engagement, making sure they are still relevant, and finding out which feel most important
  • give you a chance to feed in new ideas
